Iron based amorphous materials has a lot of virtues:

>> Use good performance Hitachi Metglas 2605SA1 thin Ribbon, about 25 um thickness

>> High saturation flux dentisy Bs 1.56Telsa

>> Low coercivity Hc, High efficiency, Low temperature rise

>> Low core loss Pc 2.0W/Kg Max @ 16KHz, 37mT

>> Easy to make a big core, tranditional magnetic material like ferrite sendust or MPP can't possible to make a big size.

 

Suitable for large switched mode power supply as high current output filter inductor with hign inductance:

>> Inverter melting machine

>> Solar Inverter

>> X-ray equipment

>> Laser power supply
